Blue lobster not sure if molting or passed away.

Hi all please can someone help me. My blue lobster is lying there looking lifeless. Not sure how to tell if he's just about to molt or if he could be dead.

I learned that with snails, if they smell when you pull them out, they're dead. Maybe the same with lobsters?

I was searching on the internet and they say the do have a smell when molting so I'm really unsure.

I've had a white lobster and he's probably just molting. Mine would missing for 2 or 3 days and suddenly reappear. You might want to put some sort of cave in with him, if he doesn't have one.
