I purchased a piece of bog wood from local store and throughly washed and rinsed it till clean then put it in a bucket to soak, held underwater by a large stone. That was four weeks ago now and the wood still floats, how long can I expect before it sinks ?? Please

That's really unusual. Most fish stores in my area sell Maylasian & Mopani DW, both types immediately sink like a rock. Occassionally expensive Manzanita DW becomes available. It tends to float for a day or two then sinks.
Maybe a good idea to check back with the fish store a learn what type wood they sold you. Hopefully they didn't sell you grapevine.

Proper ID or a pic would he helpful. I bought a large eucalyptus root from an LFS. I soaked in a large bin for about a week before putting it into the tank. I needed a heavy stone to hold it down for 3-4 weeks until the buoyancy subsided.
