Breeding julii corys, aka C. trilineatus

I am just getting back in the hobby and I need some advice on breeding C. trilineatus, commonly called julii in my local shop. I have found a lot of places to get live food but I am trying to figure out which will be best or if I should use them all. Vinegar eels, whiteworms, grindal worms, microworms or some other type. I have read all about breeding the corys and will post my success or failures in the future. I have also read all about raising the live food.

This specific one is the species that looks like it has puzzle pieces in the front half of it's body. The lines are very distinct and for a very pretty pattern. If you think this might be different species please let me know. My wife loves it and this is the one I want to breed.

I am looking for first hand advice for breeding my corys and for raising the recommended live food.

I will be using a 10 gallon tank and probably 6-10 trilineatus.

Please help.

It sounds like you already know this, but Julii corys and Trilineatus corys are two different species, even though often lfs' mistake one for the other. Considering how similar their markings are, I suppose that is understandable. Just be sure you have what you think you have; pictures of both can be found here and if you click on the pic it pulls up a little info about each one. The description for the trilineatus gives a very good verbal comparison of what to look for if you are trying to distinguish a trilin from a true julii.
