I had two at the start today I bought 2 more I think are female I either have 1 male 3 females or 2 of each I will post pics with thread they are all chasing each other around and biting violently is this normal or not? I figured maybe they were establishing pairs or dominase they have a large 120 gallon breeder tank with only a few other tank mates but they don't bother with them at all its just each other. I am good with rare and exotic plecos but this is a first for me

I had a couple kribs (pair)I hated them they are very aggressive the male will constantly chase the female around the tank you have to have good plant cover, rocks, caves, etc.

Both my male and female would color up like that. But the males belly wouldn't get plump like the female. The tail is the best way to tell which sex they are.

Top is female you see how it looses it's color toward the end of the top fin while the male has full color all the way to the tip

I could never tell on my kribs dorsal fins. And I already knew who was the male and who was the female. The coloration was almost identifical.

Also the tails of males are in the shape of an arrow females are not that's how I can tell you have males
