Hello my brother has a little l.5 gallon tank with a big brown algae problem and I was wondering if he could add a little pleco to remove it. ( I know they get really big )

1.5g is much to small for any algae eater that not an invert.

How old is the tank? Brown algae is pretty normal when setting up a tnak and in most circumstances self limiting.

Scrub and do a water change

Scrubbing and a WC is a temp fix when it comes to diatoms. Until they use all the excess silicates in the water they will keep returning. Limiting tank lighting to only 6 hours a day can help keep down the amount of diatoms in your tank. I have gotten very little diatoms in our new 6g tanks by limiting light hours.

Well it is a new tank and is located behind a window.
