Can I mix different color kuhli loaches?

I have one of the brown stripe ones. Wanted to add more him to be more happy as I read they like to be in schools. I can only find the black ones, Would this work if I get like 5 black ones to play with my one stripped? Please let me know what your thoughts are.

They'll mix and school fine. Fish don't seem to care about color morphs, they'll school with most anyone in their family.

Yup, that should be fine.

They should be fine together, I used to have both in a 55 gallon. The more loaches you have together, the more they will come out of hiding. Mine did not come out of hiding until I had 11 of them. Now they are active during the day and night constantly swimming all over the tank.

A side note that I did not consider until I had the school of 11kuhlis, with them constantly swimming, they made my black neon tetras and my malabar puffer extremely nervous and stressed to the point that I had to move them to another tank. Especially the tetras would get ick constantly. Once I totally removed the tetras from the kuhlis...to a more calmer tank...they never got ick again.
