Can I run Fluval 29G (30x12x18) rimless?

Can I remove the hood from this tank and run it rimless?



Or rimless tanks must be specially designed? It won't fall a part or leaked?

We thank you for taking the time to contact us. We have heard back from our Aquatic department. Please read their response below.
If the rim is not bonded to the aquarium you certainly can. If the rim is bonded to the aquarium you would be modifying the aquarium and voiding any existing warranty, in this case we would recommend against doing that as you could easily damage the aquarium.
