Spotted these guys without a tag at my local Petco. After waiting 10 minutes for the sales clerk to try to identify them, she finally called them Otocinclus Catfish. I don't think so...

Can anyone identify them?

i've seem them at my petco store. they labeled them as rainbow gobies. they also had a variant called neon rainbow gobies and they look similar, it's just that they have a reflecting bluish-green stripe along the side of their bodies.

that's all i know about them frankly. i've seem them bunched up so maybe they shoal but don't quote me on that.

Whichever species they are they are all algae grazers and need a tank with plenty of soft green algae or repashy gel food to really thrive.

My friend has these and Hillstream Loaches ( 2 species) in her 75g high flow tank. ImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1424972959.242955.jpg

Her Hillstreams have bred and there are 3 babies in the tank. The Gobies flash great colors, but no babies so far.

Repashy gel is favorite diet.
