my canister has been running on my 75 for a while now, and i think it is in need of a cleaning.

it is an Eheim classic 2215

i have never cleaned this or any canister filter before. i assume i need to first off stop the siphon. any suggestion on the best way to do this and then get it our from under my tank without making a mess? :?

thanks

valves i don't think i have valves...

EDIT: ok i found a picture of what the valves are....

i was wondering what those were, they were not mentioned in the set up directions so i did not put them in

so...i can add them in now for next time, guess i am going to have a mess on my hands this time...

In that case I would pull the hoses from the tank drain what you can in a bucket and then take the cannister to a bath tub or slop sink before opening.

Good luck.
