Caves and dead spots

I'm thinking of adding a cave to my tank. Will this create circulation problems and support anaerobic bacteria which will kill my tank?!

I don't think it'll cause any problems. My fish have made caves by digging the sand out from under pieces of slate in my tank and I haven't seen any signs of anaerobic sand.
