Is there anything that I need to keep in mind when changing my substrate over from rocks to sand? This is an established tank, been up and running for 6 months. It houses various fish including, Rosey Barbs, Gouramis, Bichirs, weather loach and a chocolate pleco. It only has about .25 - .5" of rock on the bottom.
My plan was to partially drain the water into several buckets, remove the fish, scoop up rocks then add sand, allow to settle for about 10 minutes, add decor, poor water on the big tree stump decor to keep the sand from stirring up a lot. Allow to settle again, then add fish again using the same water that was taken out.
I will be using the same decor and filters including two bio-wheels.
