Check out the sample pics of the sump that there are 3 pictures of together. Why are there dividers so near the end of the tank away from the biological media chamber? Is this a debris trap or something?

That appears to be a bubble trap to avoid getting micro bubbles in your tank, or dry locking your pump, from your protein skimmer in a SW tank.. I dont think the bubble trap is nessisary in a FW setup.. HTH

They look like bubble traps, which is a saltwater thing.
