Hi All

A couple of nights ago I noticed my male cherry barb swimming frantically all around the tank then landed on a leaf and sat there breathing heavy, I went over to look at him and noticed his eyes looked a little bulging, but doesn't look like pop eye? he has done this frantic swimming a few times since and then noticed that 1 of his eyes have gone black, could it be an illness or has he banged it, poor little thing. water test done all perfect.

can anyone help

I've seen fish with black eyes in the beginning stage of popeye or severely stressed. I'd add Epsom salts dosed at 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons and perform a series of daily water changes for a few days(replace the Epsom salt you've removed during the water changes).
