cichlid ram weird behaviour, normal?!

he is doing this thing with his tail fin like opening and closing it fast and wiggling it. its not all the time but i have never seen it prior to today so i dunno if its something of a distress or just territorial kind of behaviour.

any thoughts?

I'm pretty sure it's normal. Unless you did something prior to this occurrence such as a WC maybe it was too much ect. My Bolivians seem to move their fins a lot.

did a 5g wc today but that shouldn't of done nothing. also added 2 new female pearl gouramis

I've only killed fish twice. One was because I had to turn my 44 gallon pentagon and I took out about 50% of the water when I refilled the tank the shock had killed them. And the other time involved moving a 30 gallon.
