Cichlids (Yellow Lab)

Hi

I have a single yellow lab (cichlid Mbuna) in my tank.
I did have another cichlid just it jumped out. Oops.

Would the yellow Mbuna be okay to just live on its own in the tank? Or shall I buy a friend (but I don’t want to unless I really really have to)

Most cichlids do very well on their own. They like territory without competition anyway. I have several tanks with just one cichlid in it thriving, and 1 with an mbuna by himself. He's happy as can be

Yellow labs are pretty mellow as far as Africans go. But still, they are pretty rough on tankmates. Your other, don't know what it was, may have decided to leave the country due to stress
