I'm in the process of buying a house and finally being able to setup my aquarium again. I'm a bit confused by the city water lab values. I'm trying to figure out if I have hard water or soft water or somewhere in between.

is the link to the lab values. Any help would be appreciated. My choice on fish selection will be dictated by my water type.
Thanks Aaron

For a great lakes region, surface water supply, that is pretty normal. We are on the southern tip of lake Michigan and see about 160 ppm total hardness. For daily use I would call that soft as compared to our ground water which is over 600 ppm. If you are thinking of something like SA cichlids for example, that is probably still considered hard water. For a typical community tank with tetras and the like, you should be fine.
