cloudy tank

I have a 37 gallon tank that been running about 2 months. There is 4 med. Gold fish, a iridescent shark, a couple of lemon Tetris, and a pleco. Can not get my nitrite and nitrate levels down and it is always cloudy. I have done 5 half to three quarters water change in the past 2 weeks. I have a fluval 50 filter on it.also have cut down the food by half. Any ideas on why this is happening. Can it be not enough water movement.

a irredescent shark(shouldn't be sold IMO)

Usaully most say aq advisor is modestly safe so...
Take you stocking to
AqAdvisor - Intelligent Freshwater Tropical Fish Aquarium Stocking Calculator and Aquarium Tank/Filter Advisor
and see what they say.
I think you are pretty over stocked and if you can't or don't want to change 50% every or every other day and get a much larger tank then you should rehome most all of the fish except the lemon tetras?

Sounds like youre over stocked.. the shark needs removed, that species can literally get well over 2 feet long, and goldfish are just filthy fish
