Well that isn't normal. Starting to sound like it's the gravel. I would change it but it's your call.
 
Well I justed added pH reducer so Im going to see if the high pH is the problem first. If it isnt than Im going to swtich the gravel. Will I hurt my fish doing this?
 
Drastic and quick ph swings are never really good. I never used any ph buffer that isn't natural so I don't know how fast they work.
 
Ok well Ill hope for the best! Thank you! Ill keep ya posted on how it goes and what I do. Last question what causes high phosphate levels?

Driftwood or monopi wood will safely and naturally lower ur ph
