compatible fish

I have a 55 gallon tank. I have 4 large silver dollars. Yesterday I bought a large severum and 2 orange parrot fish. The fish store said they will all get along. They also told me to have some light at night because they might bump into each other and bite. I always leave my light off at night. Is any of this true what they said

I dont think thats true at all imo. You can look into getting some led lights to use as moon lights if ya wanted
