Connecting vinyl tubing

I'm ordering stuff on Amazon to build a gravel vacuum powered by an in-line pump. I can only find tubing in 10 or 20' so I'm ordering two of the 20 and one of the 10. I will need to cut it and connect pieces together to make it reach from my tank to my bathtub and am wondering what the best thing would be to use for connecting the two pieces of tubing. They are 1/2" ID and 5/8" OD.

Never mind, I found some polytube connectors that will fit.

If I remember correctly you have to bring your water upstairs to dispose of it. If that's true make sure your pump can handle the head height... most of them cant.
