Corydoras & ???

I feel I keep asking the same questions over and over again with stocking tanks, and I'm sorry about that... But I bought some mislabeled corydoras at petsmart. It said Pygmy corydoras but I got peppered corydoras, which apparently can get up to 3" long! I have 4 of them in a 8 gallon tank, how long can they be there? I can't get my 12 gallon tank up and running for at least another month to month and a half... Will they be fine? Also when I do get the tank could I put some tetras in it? Any other south American fish types?

They will not really do well in a 12 gallon either. Take them back, the store sold you the wrong fish, they should take them back. You should have plenty of time before it is an issue a 20 long would house them nicely.

If they sold you the wrong fish, then you should get compensation. I would flip out on them. haha Get a gift card or something.

Would a 55 gallon work? I have one that I will be getting around within 6 months would that be short enough time? Sorry but I really really love these cute little fish and they are funny too (sister and mother like them as well!)

That will work fine, I think 6 months in the 12 gallon will not hurt them.
