Corydoras Eye Color

I have a question regarding my 9 juvenile Leopard Corydoras I purchased less than 10 days ago from Petsmart. Is it normal for them to have solid black eyes I.E. pupil and iris or is it a sign of potential disease? They appear to be missing food the first time and eventually finding it. They also seem like they are relying on sound and their barbels only as they run on every sound or when the aquarium is approached. Extremely skittish, but very active at night and during feeding.

20G Long - Cycled for the past 6 months, 1 AC50-HOB Filter, 1 AC30-HOB Filter, 1 - Double Barrel Sponge Filter, black Sand Substrate, Hyggar programmable full spectrum 26w Light, Plastic plants for hiding

PH 7.4
NH4 - 0
NO2 - 0
NO3 - 5 ppm
Temp - 83F (Future Discus Tank Mates)

5 water changes in the past 10 days ( Like to keep NO3 low while they adjust)
Excess food vacuum everyday 2 hours after last feeding of the day

Thanks in advance

An image search found numerous others with eyes like yours. I see a ring around the black center in all--it's just darker and/or thinner in some.
