Does algae affect anything (including nitrite, nitrate, ammonia and ph) ??

If you have Lantau in the tank, then algae will compete with the plants for nutrients and CO2. It also looks unsightly.

I'm not sure how the word "plants" got autocorrected to"Lantau", but that word should have been plants. I don't know what, if any, effect algae will have on Lantau.
