Aquarium Advice Apprentice
Question guys, I have a 44 gallon tank and have been doing a fishless cycle for several weeks. I have been following the directions to a T. My 4 ppm ammonia now diminishes super fast (less then 24 hours I have to dose it back up). However my Nitrites and Nitrates are off the charts. So I did my 50 % water change yesterday and added my prime. Tested water today and ammonia was super low so dosed it back up. But Nitrites and Nitrates are still off the charts. My PH is about 7.6. Any ideas? I took an educated guess and was gonna continue to dose ammonia to 4ppm and hoping some magic happens and one day Nitrites will be gone overnight....What do you guys think?
