Daphnia

I am starting a breading culture of Daphnia and have put them in a 60Lt tank with safe filter, heater and the odd plant.
What I would like to know is, do they reproduce by eggs or live bearers ?
How long do they live for?
At what age do they have young ?
I did buy a packet and put in the tank and they did multiply, then my neons started to lay eggs and I put the group in the Daphnia tank, woops, all gone except for about 10 small daphnia, no neon eggs, so removed then.
Any tips on Daphnia or utube recommended would help.

I did manage to hatch a few from the eggs using the soak in 2% bleach solution method but failed to get them to reproduce.
