I have a 10 gallon that i have been setting up and my ant knew it. She knew i wanted a red tail shark so when she was at petco she saw some and got me 1. Now i have a red tail shark and a uncycled 10 gallon. So my only choice was to put it in it. It was close to cycling but it was not done. I have always cycled my tanks before putting fish in so cycling with a fish is new to me. So i need advice. About what level of ammonia readings is deadly to fish (example: 0.25). Also HN1 had a article he referred to for cycling with fish. Any one have that link? Now i have to hurry up and get my 75g set up.

Can you just use some media from one of your existing tanks to seed it?

Ya, i could but then the fish in there would be doomed. lol. When i have my 75g set up i have 2 filters to go on it for instances like this.

Why would they be doomed? Is your running tank sick?

no, i have 3 tanks and 3 filters that are cycled. I have 2 extra filters to slap on the 75g when it is up and running.

Well, if you just do that, then you probably won't have a cycle, it will be ready to go.
