Decorations out of clay.

I have some Crayola clay I would like to make cool stuff with it. I would use enamel paint and than clear coat poly it a couple times ,would this work?

As long as you completely seal your creation with aquarium safe Polly it probably would be okay. The crew on "Tanked" TV show seal unusual items for aquariums on a regular basis.
