Discus have a pretty good resale value.. I'm a big believer in bare bottom discus tanks anyways.. if I were to rock a discus tank?? I'd get some egg crate and load it up with anubias nana petite, make it easily removable for bottom cleaning by affixing a massive chunk of dw to the left side of it..

Bare bottom I have in my qt as you should but I think the reflection freaks them out a bit

To the unsuspecting noob. The experienced keepers would be able to see they're poor quality, previously sick, probably stunted based on size, age, and what tank they're in. At that point it's just a matter of shaking ones head and walking away.
