"DIY" filter material?

I've been looking at other forums reading about various "household" things one could use as filter material (pot scrubbers, plant pots, etc) and someone mentioned that hypoallergenic PILLOW STUFFING works wonderfully as filter floss. Would you recommend this? It sounds like a fantastic idea.

yep...i use it all the time. you can get a huge bag of it from walmart for like 8 bucks thatll last you a year. just make sure it has no fire retardant chemicals in it. 100% polyester batting it should say .

Its the same as the stuff from the LFS except for the expensive price tag.
