Hi! I'm very new at aquariums...I'm a college student, and I thought a freshwater aquarium would be a great way to make life a little more enjoyable. The tank has been doing well for over a month now, and currently I have three adult female mollies, a baby molly (gender not known yet), a Julii catfish, and a female coral platy. I know that platies do great with mollies, but I was wondering if I should obtain a few more platies to keep it company. I have a 12 gal tank.

Thanks for any advice!

Kristina

One or two more should be fine. It may be best to get females so there is less aggresion and not gazillions of babies.

Be aware that Platies breed like crazy. I had to give 42 away to my LFS ! Started with 3.

I think Mollies do too so you may end up with more fish than you can planned.

Once the platy numbers exploded they took over the tank and prevented more dosile fish geting to food etc.
