I was doing a water change just now, and was vacuuming the sand a bit. I went behind some driftwood and noticed one of my corie floating into the tube. I switched the valve right away so he didn't go through. Upon exiting, he floated limply into the water, dead.

I'm not sure if he was dead before. My question is this: How likely do you think it is that he would die right away from being either hit by the python or just being sucked up for maybe 3 seconds?

It was dead before you vacuumed.

No worries. Been there. Sorry for the loss. :(

I accidentally sucked up one of my cories and he was fine, so my guess would be he was already dead.
