Dojo loaches with apple snails?

Hi all, I've found lots of conflicting advice on the Web so I just thought I'd ask you guys. Are dojo loaches and apple snails a bad idea together? If so, any recommendations on a cold water loving algea eater? Thanks!

I had a pretty large ~1.5 inch diameter golden apple with my dojo for about a year. One day I came home, and there was only an empty shell floating by the filter intake. I can't 100% prove it was Long John the dojo, but he's the only suspect.

I've had dojo loaches annihilate a large snail. I wouldn't recommend it.

Awesome, good to know! Any recommendations for anything for brown and green algea? I've always just used snails or plecos. Thanks!

I have three dojos, they don't bother the nerite or Malaysian trumpet snails.
