Ok my problem is I have a big piece of drift wood an I can't get it to sink it keeps floating up to the top what can I do to make it stay at the bottom

It should eventually become waterlogged and sink but that can take quite a while. Another option is to glue it to a rock

You can tie a piece of rock to the bottom of it and it will sink. Later you can remove the rock from the driftwood and it should be able to stay on the bottom. I would just use some fishing line.

What about drilling holes in it could it be trap air

Ok mines is .H18XL55XW10 so it's kind of hard

You might try drilling a few holes into a slab of slate and then driving some stainless steel screws into the slate and DW. You could bury the slate in the substrate if necessary.

Nope don't kno what kind of wood I have an was thinking of drilling holes in it
