driftwood coloring....?

bought some DW today.. 1 piece from a tank & 2 that were dry.

the piece from the tank is dark, almost black but the 2 dry pieces are like orangey brown.

will the 2 orangey pieces darken up similar once soaked for a while or are they 2 different kinds?

the dry DW was packaged as Malaysian DW .. no clue on the darker one as it was from a tank as a display

all help is appreciated!!!!

There are quite a few different types of DW. I would use a bucket to soak the two dry pieces first and see what color it has when it is put fully submerged in water.
