OK I have a vertical standing driftwood -- kinda of Y Shaped. It is screwed at the bottom to shale(sp?). I think because of this shape, it never sinks. I had this in my tank when I had gravel and I had put it in the gravel and made it to stand and it was fine. Now, after being in water for 4 months, it is still not water logged? But now that I have sand as substrate , it refuses to stay in the sand and gets "uprooted" if you will , no matter how hard I try to make it stand in the sand.

Any suggestions ? Anything similar to plant weights or something that I can use to make it stand in the tank ?

This may be a pain in the butt with a filled tank, but I read somewhere about siliconing suction cups to the bottom of the slate and pushing the suction cups into the glass.
