Driftwood Prep

I got a nice piece of driftwood today and want to make sure I dont put tannins in the water. It has been boiling for almost 7 hours. It still discolors gthe water a little. Should I add it or will it stain the water?

From what I've been told, if it's still leeching when you boil it, then it will still leech in your tank. However, new charcoal in your filter will help remove the tannins from the water. At least, that's what I've been told.

Ok. I got impatient and put it in lol. I hope the carbon wont hurt my plants if I have to add it....

Just let it leach. Won't harm anything and will be removed by PWC.
