Dwarf cichlids in community aquarium

Hi, I'm starting a 30 gallon freshwater aquarium and I love the look if apistos. I was wondering what other species I can keep with them. Tetras? Gouramis? Guppies? A betta even?

If you're going to do apistos I wouldn't bother with betas or gouramis, get a pair of apisto and a school two of tetras or barbs. Maybe a troop of corys for the bottom.
