Eclipse/ Sun Catfish

Okay guys, i just bought a sun catfish about a week ago hes eating hikari cichlid pellets and shrimp...should i change from the cichlid pellets to something else and how long would it take for him to reach 6 or 7 inches if he is 3 right now and eats FEROCIOUSLY ?

Mine took about 5-6 months, but mine is in my SA/CA cichlid tank and only gets what the big fish don't get.

okay so mine should take about 3 or 4 becuase its by itseld for the next 2 months and then im gonna add a school of silver dollars ( 4 or 5)
