Also my shelldwellers fry are growing up pretty good. Can't wait to put some in the 90.
However I am now noticing I have some culls...deformed jaws. So I'm going to be holding on to a few more than I thought.
There's also one little guy who's got some crazy pigment going on that he can't seem to control

I've found that having an unholy number of loaches and not much else makes them come out a lot.... but for some reason that I can't understand, most people don't want tanks like that

Looks like I'm going to have to have some nice beginner friendly apistos ready if that day comes.

Well the beauforti sits still for half a second and then he turns into a rocket ship chasing all the other loaches so pretty much everyone hides haha. The berdmorei and zebras are in with him for the time being so no pics of anyone >

Thanks Gillie it will be a tough sell but I will certainly try. So hard to find farlowellas anywhere of any type so my boyfriend buys them any time we see them. So twice. Lol.
Don't get me wrong I absolutely love the fish but I would love to help ya out if I can...then maybe you could send me babies!

If only you could swap him for a sinibotia... They're bundles of ridiculous energy like the beauforti but instead of being aggressive they're just spazy and like to provoke other fish into chasing them. Mine used to grab a whole algae wafer and take off, with a dozen other fish following.

If I recall I've seen them several times at Westport Aquarium (originally I'm from CT). I know I've seen them at House of Fins in Greenwich as well.

Me? In Greenwich? Pssshhh haha I haven't checked that place out cause I thought they were mostly salty.
Haven't been to Westport. I did get the royal from Emmons in Simsbury.

Westport is AWESOME. And yeah (bleep) greenwich but House of Fins has some AWESOME freshwater stuff. It's where I got my first botia kubotai back when they were stupid rare. Also where I got my denison barbs when they were stupid rare.
Disclaimer: I haven't been to these places in YEARS. But Westport Aquarium and Slither and Swim were my two go-to fish stores.

Greenwich as in where Martha Moxley was murdered by a Kennedy relative? I want to take a road trip to Portland Maine to see the International Museum of Cryptozoology. Hahah I once scheduled a whole vacation around the international mustard museum. I could swing a fish store tour!

Where is slither and swim?
I go mostly to waterbury but petland in southbury usually has some cool mislabeled stuff for cheap (horseface loach). Otherwise my local petco has an awesome fish specialist believe it or not. Emmons is awesome but far away. I've also checked out that place in vernon, blakes aqua den in Meriden...some other oddballs.
Apparently zoomed lists all the mom and pops on their website (we had a rep speak at our last aquarium society meeting) so I'll have to go check that out

Slither and Swim is in West Haven. Which Petco is your local one? I know the ones in Milford and Stamford are awful. Never heard of Emmons or Blakes. I was in Fairfield County so there were some places in Bridgeport and Fairfield that were great but many of them closed down around the recession.
