Eheim filter problems

Hi. I recently bought a used eheim professional 2 canister filter and it began leaking. I bought a replacement part and fixed that but it still leaking. There is water in the cavities where u can stick fingers in and lift filter. Has this happened to anyone before?

Never had a professional 2 but never had a single problem with the many classics i own.
