Elephant Nose - please tell me your experiences keeping this fish

I saw some at the LFS, and they look very cool!

are they easy to care for?
do they grow big?
what do you feed them - are they picky?

They are very hard work fish.

You need a big tank

And they give out electical pules.

If you have other fish then it could be hard for your elephant nose fish to eat.

How much were they?
Mine was £11.50

And should be kept on there own or 3 of them.

Not 2! As the stronges will bully the other one.

in Sydney, they were being sold for AU$50 each - 5-6 inches size.

Do they like frozen blood worms?

They are very picky.

Need something to float down to the bottom.

And make sure the others dont eat the food before he gets any.

They are not social as adults. One to a tank.
Hard to feed if you have other fast fish. I fed mine with a baster.

Needs big, well planted, sand tank. Not a beginner fish. Very shy at first !
