You must have internal filters? I honestly suggest getting HOB's or a small canister. You have to clean them of detris buildup will eventually happen and you'll get high nitrates which is what is normally seen in dirty filters.

I usually clean each filter about once a month? Just I don't want this to reset everything now I nearly sorted it
