Feeding carnivores

Hey I have a clown knife fish and a spotted gar in a 125 gal 3inch and 2.5inch respectively. Was wondering if anyone every ried feeding frozen food half one type half other. Like feeding half frozing blood worms and half frozen krill? Thanks for input, blood worms are their current staple food.
