Feeding cultured daphnia (water quality question)
On taking the advice of some forum members I began not cleaning out my daphnia tank as I had done previously and simply left it to, sort of gunge itself up. Well, it really really worked and now I have tonnes of them swimming around. Well, i had until I decided to buy them a larger home which I moved them to totally forgetting to de-chlorinate the water leaving me with about 5 tiny babies BUT THATS A DIFFERENT STORY!
Anyway, as I am feeding them yeast, and I'm not using any air filters/sponge filters/air pumps, the water is stagnant and maintains a yellow haze in it. When I've been lifting daphnia across in a small container I'm worried that putting even some of this yellow-yeasty water will be bad for my fish tanks - will it?
I've seen videos on Youtube of people with millions of daphnia - in clear, clean tanks - how is this done?
