I have 6 ottos in qt right now, freash from my lfs. They don't seem to be interested in my algae waffers, I don't know they may not be hungry right now but what else would they eat?

Mine are not interested in algae wafers either...just the algae. Their diets need to be supplemented with vegetables. zucchini is what I feed my ottos. I just slice a piece or 2 off and put it in the tank....they go crazy over it. You can also use cucumber.

let them have a reallly yuckky fixture from one of your other tanks to snack from.... it will be squeaky adn only need sterilizing. And the like blanched zucchini
and an occasional goodie like bloodworm.

The 2 ways I know of to blanch is to throw it in boling water for a couple seconds, or to leave in the freezer for maybe 30 seconds to a minute. Makes it a little softer and easier for them to eat.

Learn something every day! Never knew about freezer blanching. Thanks!
