Filter for 55 gal.

I am starting a new 55 gal. cichlid tank and I am looking for filtration recommendations.
I have looked at the Rena XP3 filstar and Fluval 305, but was wondering if there are better options for this type of tank.

nope... 305, imo, is the best filter in that size range. I would suggest a 405 if youre going with africans though... they are quite messy. Im thinking about getting another 305 for my 150 to go with the existing 305 and 405. But imo, the fluval is the easiest to clean, set up, and use.

I have a 404 available, new impeller, shaft, and hose, PM if you're interested. The flow is adjustable, but bigger is always better IMO.
