Sadly in one of my tanks, both of my fish died. They got ick and what I think was a secondary bacteria infection. I’m wondering what I should do before I restock? Is there anyway I can keep it running or do I need to break down everything (filtration, decor, substrate) and sanitize. If so how would you disinfect everything? It is a 75g tank and I won’t be able to move it. I’ve attached a picture of my fish just before passing so you have an idea of what was happening in the tank. Water conditions were good.

You can treat the tank for Ich even without the fish in there because the Ich will still be in the tank.

Are you familiar with the nitrification cycle. It is the process of getting your filter to have a colony of beneficial bacteria able to process fish waste and excess food and help keep fish safe.

The eyes look like the fish had bad water quality.
