Fish has a small hole in its side

My fish has this hole in it's side which is getting bigger and has blood on the edge with it's insides pushing through. I had been treating it with melafix for 3 days. I have attached an image. Has anyone got any ideas what it could be and/or how to treat it?

Give it lots of clean water

I'm usually one to fight for a fishes life but that severe of bloating doesn't normally end well and will continue to swell until it actually burst. You could try some epsom salt to draw some of the fluid out, fast the fish for a few days with the exception of a thawed deshelled pea, along with clean water to prevent seconday infections.
