Can you help me I'd this fish, I have just got it but forgot the name :banghead: it was red tailed c____ that's all I can remember, he said it was a relative of tetras, it has a red tail, it's body has a blue sheen on silver and has a black spot above the pectoral behind the gills and it has teeth, the pictures arn't very good buti don't want to spook him with the light so I can get better ones later if needed.

Sweet! Colored up nicely. Ya do know he's predatory and will get 10"-12" long (~ 25-30 cm) I hope. Eventually you'll hafta give either him or those roseline barbs and the betta in the corner another home...

Depends on the size of the tank, and how much you feed the chalceus. If it's a 75 gallon+ tank, you'll probably be fine. Anything smaller than that and I'd be somewhat worried. But then again, you might have a more passive specimen than your average chalceus...
Roundabout way of saying just keep an eye on them.

They are in a 95g ATM and I am planning to upgrade next year to close to 1000l (don't know what that is in gallons) and he seem passive right now it took me ages to get him to take the worm :/ like you said I will have to keep a close eye as he grows
