Three is a start but like I said more down the road will be greatly appreciated. They are some of the most peaceful fish I've ever seen. And yes they prefer densely planted tanks. You have lots of hiding spots but if it can be done I highly advise getting more kuhlis and some plants.

Kuhlis r some of the LEAST aggressive fish you will find!

What size is your tank? Looks a little small. Kuhlis require a somewhat larger tank. If it's 10 gallons or less you are already way overstocked.

Kuhlis do fine in gravel, but for the best effect, sand is a lot better.. Mine love to dive from the top of the tank into the sand and all over.. It's a lot of fun to watch!
